Princess and Pilot – 90%

Thanks to Animefest you can see Japanese animation, which is not often seen. I've only seen Studio Ghibli films so far, so I finally got to see a film from another studio. This is the film The Princess and the Pilot in English translation: Princess and the Pilot and the Japanese original : To aru hikūshi e no tsuioku.
The film is about a very simple story where a princess is taken between the battlefield to her prince by a pilot who is the best at flying, but is noted in character. A rather interesting relationship develops between the two that will mark the pilot and the princess for life.
I kind of wonder if this movie is an adaptation of a book or some real story or just made up by the writers, but the story was nice. My girlfriend really liked it because it was bold and very beautiful and the story was very strong.
Japanese animation is very distinctive, you can see the style from Japan which is very unique. It's quite "Pokémon". The animation of the characters is simple, the speaking of the characters in the animation is simple and doesn't correspond to the spoken lines at all.
I saw the film in the original Japanese language, with only Czech subtitles, so because the organizers forgot that they don't have a cinema and that they only have lecture halls, I didn't see some parts of the subtitles. So sometimes I only perceived only Japanese. I would recommend putting the subtitles at the top of the picture.
I was very happy to see the whole film, the European premiere, because it's very good to see a non-American production. In the Japanese one again there is a different mood and different stories. I'm not surprised that sometimes other productions get Oscars, because American productions are very sometimes simple with a simple story.
