Disney today unveiled the official trailer for the Christmas special Time Lord: Joy to the World, which will premiere on the 25th.December.
What will it be about?
In the year 2024, Joy checks into a London hotel and discovers a secret door that leads to the mysterious Time Hotel. There she faces danger, dinosaurs and an encounter with the Doctor. Meanwhile, on Earth just Christmas, a deadly plan is being set in motion that could change everything.
Main Cast:
The starring roles include Ncuti Gatwa (Sex Education) as the Time Lord and Nicola Coughlan (The Bridgertons) as Joy. We will also see Steph de Whalley (Anita), Jonathan Aris (Melnak), Joel Fry (Trev), Peter Benedict (Basil), Julia Watson (Hilda) and Niamh Marie Smith (Sylvia).
Creative Team:
The script and production of the special is by Steven Moffat (Time Lord, Sherlock), with Alex Sanjiv Pillai (Riverdale, The Bridgertons) directing. The showrunner and executive producer is Russell T. Davies. Other executive producers include Joel Collins, Phil Collinson, Julie Gardner and Jane Tranter.
Production and future of the series:
The Time Lord special was produced by Bad Wolf in association with the BBC and Disney Branded Television. It will be broadcast on BBC One, BBC iPlayer and Disney . The next series, the second in the series, is scheduled to premiere in 2025.
