The second installment of the cult comedy brings the return of an unguided missile named Lavi. This time, he's aiming for the bottom - the village club FK Smrkov. New faces, old troubles and humour that doesn't mince words. Vyšehrad: Dvje expands its football universe and serves up another serving of wacky incorrectness.

Lavi is back. A this time there is no comeback to FC Slavoj Vyšehrad, but a fall to the very bottom - to the village club FK Smrkov. Vyšehrad: Dvje, which premieres on 17 April 2025, follows on from the successful Vyšehrad: Fylm and straight away promises to make everything bigger, flashier, but also edgier than anyone would expect. New characters, new settings, but still the same Lavi you love or hate - but he definitely won't leave you cold.

From England to Smrkov: Lavi's Journey into the Unknown

In this sequel to the popular series, footballer Lavi gets the chance of a lifetime - he has an offer from England. But, as is usually the case with him, the language barrier, the utter chaos and Lavi's lifestyle lead him into further trouble. He ends up in the remote Czech town of FK Smrkov, where the harsh realities of village football, a group of quirky teammates and a major life change await him. It comes completely unexpectedly - and as Lavi usually does, while peeing in a pangejt.

Bigger sweep, a more worldly feel and unflinchingly liberating

According to director duo Jakub Štáfek and Martin Kopp, the film has moved on considerably from "one". "The first one was an intimate implosion. Two is an explosion on the surface," says Štáfek. Filming took place not only in the Czech Republic, but also in England, Slovakia and in Argentina. "It's world-class i the amount of actors and characters," adds the director.

Producer Ctibor Pouba adds: "Vyšehrad is now a brand. It has something to say in a time when everything is correct and slick. We do things our way. And who won't go along with that? Well, he can go elsewhere."

Improvisation, friendship and the joy of filmmaking

The creators prided themselves on being a friendly team. Most of the cast are friends, a bunch that sees each other even off set. Improvisation was welcome - and often brought out the best jokes. "We were lucky to have people who came prepared and enjoyed it," Stafek recalls.

Among the film's unexpected stars is Lukas Vaculik as Coach Shebek. "He fit the role like an ass on a pot," laughs Štáfek. And his niece Šárka Krausová, known from  "one", gets much more space here. In the role of Lucie, she lights up every frame and her connection with Uncle Vaculík works perfectly on screen.

Familiar faces and new players

In addition to Štáfek, Prachar, Vaculík, Krausová and Hanuš, the film also features acting legends such as Ivana Chýlková, David Prachař, Jaroslav Plesl, David Novotný, Jan Révai, Věra Hlaváčková, Ondřej Pavelka, Jiří Ployhar and many others.

An interesting feature is also the participation of sports stars - in addition to the well-known names from  "Fylm", this time also Pavel Nedved, Marek Jankulovski and Radko Gudas join. This way the film is partly intertwined with reality, but as the creators say - it is not worth famous names nowadays. Vyšehrad has its own world. Vyšehrad Universe.

Strong moments i complete flicks

Although it is a crazy comedy, the film contains i surprisingly touching moments. For example, the scene between Lavi and new coach in the living room is "one of the highlights of the film," according to Kopp. On the other hand, he's not afraid of foul jokes, crazy disguises or absurd situations. Vyšehrad: Dvje just goes full throttle.

Where to next? Three is lurking around the corner

The final question hangs in the air: will there be a Vyšehrad 3? The creators are not resisting - quite the opposite. "Three is even better than two," says Štáfek. But it all depends on the success of "Two". If the audience comes to the cinemas, it is likely that Lavi's saga will continue.
