So what does Dolores, the Man in Black, Ford and Maeve. Bit by bit, they're moving towards their goal. The eighth episode of Westworld is gradually fracturing our senses. We know a little more, but we also know a little less. The mysterious creations seem to be gradually becoming even more vivid as their memories gradually surface.
We already know the sequence for several of the stories. I'm not going to spoil too much, but from hints and small details, we learn that Maeve's story and the Man in Black's story are connected and that they are one interwoven story.
We still don't know the exact story of Dolores. Slowly, slowly, memories of her "youth" in the park come flooding back. As she understands it, Arnold, who is only known to have killed himself (or been killed) at the beginning of the park's operation, was behind it. Dolores' story is sure to be even more convoluted than we might expect. My theory is that the latest is Maeve's story along with the Man in Black with Teddy. Dolores is about a decade back, she was only in the lab with Bernando, who we know is a robot. And the third story that's slowly creeping to the surface is a story from when Ford and Bernando are gradually getting started with their robots in the park. But it occurs to me now that the story of Dolores along with Willian may not be from the past, but it will be the new story that Ford is talking about. But I'm not sure yet if Dolores is the most recent story or older than the trouble with Maeve.
There are certainly a lot of theories about whether or not everything is right. I'm sure the creators are keeping a few ideas for season two. It's gradually revealing how the stories are actually going, and that bit by bit we're getting to the nitty gritty, that no one can be sure of anything anymore, what they're actually living, who they're living with, who they're sleeping with.
The eighth episode is pretty good, too. Some of the storylines, the fate of some of the characters we've come to like, are explained well. There was a lot of blood, a lot of new plots, even the first "killing" of a man, the stories are moving in leaps and bounds towards the outcome that again in the last episode we won't know anything we knew and saw.
It's clear that the creators have the entire series on the hook, with all the lines intertwined and bits of revelation presented to us with gradual clues to ensure that both Dolores and the Man in Black reach their destination in the labyrinth. Maybe they've solved their problems and can appreciate their lives, both robot and human, more.
