Adam project – 60%

A very successful film was released in theaters last year. Free Guy. This year, the director and star of last year's film have embarked on another project. That's Project Adam.

This time, it's a more sensitive subject. It's the story of a warrior from the future who, thanks to his younger self from 2022, is able to save his present, his wife and, of course, the world.

Shawn Levy is one of the very successful directors. He rose to fame with Night at the Museum, continued the Netflix series Stranger Things, and tries to give us a series or film every year that makes him money.

Ryan Reynolds is already one of the acting matadors, and one of the few actors who can make himself comedically impossible well enough to make a film successful. Since the third Blade, the actor has been able to find projects that have become successful and can pull off an entire movie in person alone.

In Netflix's new film, The Adam Project, he once again pulls off an entire movie without making us bored. This time around, he's chosen other successful actors Mark Ruffalo, Jennifer Garner and Zoe Saldana, who duke it out.

But it's mainly down to the lead star, with Ryan Reynolds finally moving away from the dude dude, and instead seconding his own younger self, played by acting debutant Walker Scobell.

Shawn Levy has been given enough money to make an online outing that probably wouldn't have had as much success in the cinema, but is perfectly suited to the Netflix world. The fan has its stars, its entertainment, and my Sunday evening passes quickly in peace. The film isn't even that long, so there's not much to think about, just have fun.

The film is a perfect fit for Netflix, and for the Czechs it's also a positive that it's dubbed, so anyone who subscribes to the online service will enjoy the film. Unfortunately, it's just not a movie that would catch on in the cinema. So fans of famous actors will only enjoy it online. The story is simple, the plot even simpler, and the execution, for Netflix, is pretty good, but if it were a movie, without a star director, actors... it would be forgotten.
