Bear 2 – 45 %

So, this Christmas season is excellent for blockbuster movies. One of this year's movie releases was Bear 2. The second installment of Ted Bear, who smokes, fucks and enjoys life with his hunk buddy.

I liked the first one a lot. It was very entertaining, which is why I considered the first episode to be the hit of 2012. A lot has changed in three years. Johnny got married and divorced and Ted decided to take his life to a new dimension and decided to get married.

Unfortunately, not all gold glitters. I was very disappointed with the second episode. Seth MacFarlane has lost his charm and compared to the first episode, this one doesn't hold up. After the first 45 minutes, I was already looking at the clock wondering when the movie would finally end. Not just about the movie being boring, but for the main plot to end. Ted trying to prove in court that he's not a thing and that he's actually a living being.

If it weren't for Comic-Con in New York, where the finale of the movie takes place, it would be even worse. The creator's familiarity with a lot of comic books means that there are a lot of funny moments in the finale, not just in combination with Flash Gordon's cameo, but he's making fun of Star Wars/Star Trek and other movies, but using every joke that comes along. M.j.'s supporting character is also the actor who plays Worf in STNG, and another unknown to us in the Tick series (it only has 9 episodes). The finale makes the whole film a bit better.

As for the dub, it continues the dub from the first episode. So the main duo is Jan Vondracek and Libor Hruska. Jiří Štěpnička also appears in cameos, and of course Pavel Rimský, who dubbed you-know-who 🙂

But anyone who likes the first episode and wants to be entertained and doesn't expect anything else about it should buy the digital media, they probably won't be fooled. For me, it's the disappointment of the year.
