Those who don't want to wait for another Monday episode can watch on HBO GO. There's already a fifth episode to watch, and it brings another „relaxing“ episode of two old "geezers."
The previous episode left us in 1980 in front of a Vietnam veteran's house, and what could possibly happen? Well, clearly a shootout that will end the investigation in the 1980s.
In previous episodes we also learned that the Purcell's daughter is probably still alive and that they may investigate her disappearance in the 1990s.
But there certainly isn't much that has been solved, so in episode five we dive into the 21st. Century, with the main investigators long retired and their story and memories of the „young“ 80s and 90s beginning to unfold.
There's probably not much past left to tell, so I'm curious to see what lead creator Nic Pizzolatto has in store for us. In the first four episodes, we had plenty of hints about kidnappers and killers, but what we learn in episode five is that things are probably very different and that we're revisiting the beginning, when the father last saw his children.
The second half of the season starts with the best episode, and I was surprised a lot by the whole hour-long story of three timelines, and the last minutes of 21. Century leave me wanting to know more of the story of what actually happened with the kids (murder and kidnapping).
