Forest Spirit – remake from 2013

There should never be remakes again. Just the original films. Terminator, Robocop, etc... In this day and age, producers want to make retreads with the movies they reshoot. One of them is Evil Dead, the original horror film by Sam Raimi, who made a very low budget horror film back in 1981.

That film first featured Bruce Campbell, who went on to create an iconic character who would go on to take on evil in subsequent installments and even a modern TV series (in the company of Xena)

My opinion on remakes is that they shouldn't be made at all. Let's take the subject of a unique film that made a dent in the world and try again. With new sexy faces, new directors and, of course, new technology. It rarely works, and Judge Dredd is a big exception.

The Ghostbusters of 2013 is one of those failed films that tries unsuccessfully to continue remakes and retreads of what's been done before. That's why it wasn't successful.

I'm sure modern fans aren't familiar with the franchise, so it's a first for them, but surely this is the age of the internet, everything can be found on websites, and that's how film connoisseurs get to compare the new and original versions.

The new version is inferior to the old low-budget version, it's not as scary, it's not as well acted, and we don't see as much blood or as much dark scares that would force us to flee from a remote cabin where not even a dog would bark.

The Blu-ray is superior to the film, both the picture and the Czech dubbing don't fall short. Petr Neskusil and Jitka Ježková do their best to deliver what is expected of them in the dubbing budget. It's probably also L.K.J.'s direction. Novák, who already has a lot of experience in dubbing. That's how the dubbing maintains a level of excellence that you only see in cinemas.

For modern fans, 2013 horror film The Spirit of the Forest comes as a surprise that they're scared, scared and scared in a secluded forest, but let's face it, for an original film from the early '80s, it's a bit of a stretch. It doesn't have the same appeal as the early '80s ghost story, I think the producers would have to cut themselves to make a better film than when there were two directors who could make cult films for minimal money.

The first was Sam Raimi, and the second, of course, was Peter Jackson, who made the biggest name for himself with a low-budget film.

You can certainly buy a Blu-ray for a secluded cabin in the woods, where the nearest rescue is miles away, and you won't lose anything, and you'll be scared at night. Feel free to replay the original 1981 film afterwards, too, then you'll have a long sleepless night where you'll be afraid of every nighttime sound.

You can also get the Blu-ray with a tin sleeve, so the digital medium will look good on your shelf among the others.
