Hunters in the Dark (S03E06) – How deep does the rabbit hole go?

The atmosphere thickens, and we still haven't gotten to the bottom of who all is behind the kidnapping and murder.

Compared to the previous episode, the story has moved on, and in the latest ones we learn a lot more about the fact that it wasn't just about kidnapping children. Not only did the father of the missing children cover up a lot of things, but their mother is no saint either, and the combination of the investigations in the 80s and 90s gave us a lot of surprises about what kind of parents they actually were.

The lead investigators, Hays and West, take both cases into the 20th century and get almost to the heart of the problem. Unfortunately, they can't finish the oldest case because it ends with the death of the war veteran who was framed for the kidnapping.

The younger case rediscovers old wounds and the investigation goes back to interviewing all the important people all over again. Nothing is left out and the unfortunate death of Lucy Purcell's mother, whose death may not have been a suicide, is also dealt with.

The third episode from the end plunges us towards a surprising ending, dealing in as much detail as possible with the fact that there was something more than just a normal kidnapping behind the children's abduction.

I'm really curious to know who actually kidnapped them, who did the killing, and who's actually behind the whole complicated and grand conspiracy.

Undoubtedly the lead detectives and their friends in the last two episodes will have their lives on the line, but as you can see from the 2015 narrative, the detectives will survive the investigation, but at what cost? We still have two hours to resolve that question
