On Thursday, June 6, fans of Golden Swan will be treated to the final episode of Season Three, which is also the last episode planned so far. Gruber (Jaroslav Plesl) narrowly escaped death after an attempt on his life. The enraged and vengeful commander of Prague arrives in the Golden Swan to settle all scores and show his power once and for all. Death threatens anyone who crosses him. All the trump cards have been drawn, all that's left is to believe in luck. Who dares to risk their lives to protect their loved ones?
The Heroism of Lukáš Mašek
In final episode, Lukáš Mašek proves his loyalty to his wife Irena (Kristýna Ryška) by facing Gruber and death head-on. "Filming was long and complicated by the cold and rain. We took advantage of every moment we could to film. In my last scene, I was just in my shirt and I was quite put out, in every way. I came to the set moved that it was over, and I left completely frozen, glad it was over," Robert Mikluš, who plays Lukáš Mašek, reveals with a laugh.
The fate of Lukáš Mašek
How does he feel about the fate the writers have prepared for his character? "I found out about the end of the story well in advance, so I could mentally prepare myself. The audience doesn't even know what he's going to turn out to be, but he's going to be a hero in the end. Luke may have had some love affairs, but in the end he was faithful to Irene as a husband and protector all along. He did his duty to the end. It seems like a nice ending for a character who was problematic to begin with. He was an alcoholic, suspected of something he didn't do, everyone thought he was a thug. But in the end, he acts like a man. Even though the love in Irene and Luke's marriage was probably one-sided, he stayed with her to the end and helped her. It's very powerful."
Emotional filming
From the first minute of the final episode, viewers were treated to a grandiose spectacle, and the filming itself was full of emotion. "The last days of filming were like the end of a long camp. Everyone was moved and me a little more. Jarda Plesl said to me, 'Don't be silly, it's just a series.' He grounded me well, because I'm a bit sensitive about this," Mikluš said.
The success of Golden Swan
The Golden Swan series has a total of 56 episodes divided into three series. In the final series, an average of 21.35 % of viewers in the 15-54 age group watched the TV Nova period series. Over the seventeen Thursday nights, the show was watched by an average of 634,000 viewers aged 4+, making it one of the favourite formats of the spring 2024 season. In successful charity event, TV Nova in cooperation with the creators of Golden Swan and viewers managed to raise 610 000 CZK for Good Fairies for Children.
Surprise for the viewers
The creative producer of the series Golden Swan, Klara Follová, revealed the surprise that is going to be for the viewers after the airing of the final episode. The show was discussed live on social media every week and Irena and Alena's storyline was also leaked to foreign media. We want the Golden Swan to stay with viewers even after the finale, and so we prepared the music that accompanied the series for three seasons in the form of several edited clips. Viewers will always be able to reminisce about the moments spent with this series. Viewers will learn about the release of the videos from social media and TV Nova channels."
