You may have missed the reviews of the previous episodes, but I haven't had much time and the series has stopped being as much to my liking. Maybe I'm expecting a bit more about the series. But I was more disappointed that the other main character is already dead. That happened in the second episode and I didn't want to write much about it anymore. I guess I should just point out that the director who directed the second episode was the director who did the most recent episode of Game o Thrones.
The third episode was even worse, what could have been done in the first ten minutes of the next episode was the content of the entire hour-long episode. The main two, Ted Ellie and her girlfriend (who continues in Joel's place) Dina, rush to Seattle and want to kill Joel's killer (well, murderer) Abby. Not much of an episode.
The fourth episode is even more over the top than the previous two. Still nothing happens, only Dina learns Elli's secret and Elli learns Dina's. The classic zombies of the series only serve as a catalyst for the actions that are between the main couple.
I'm a little weird, but I didn't like the episode called Day One at all. I don't know how it's actually in the game, if the creators are making it up or if it's according to the game, but the relationship between the two lesbians, one is immune to the infection and the other is pregnant, disappointed me. But from what I read online, it's in the game. So I'm not gonna dissect it. Rather, I'll point out that this episode was directed by a director who has directed the first season of Loki.
It's a very good thing that the show's lead creator, Craig Mazin, always chooses experienced directors. It shows, but I think it wouldn't hurt to put in a bit of work to give the series more depth as opposed to the game. I hope it's not still just about the script just copying the story from the game. It would be good to gradually deepen the story with things not mentioned in the game, so that people who don't know the game can see some interesting stories. And those fans of the game who watch the show also watch the show, so that they can learn more than just seeing the story in the game, which the writers changed here and there.
I'd also add, Bella Ramsey is a terrible actress. You can see in her partner, Isabel Merced, that she's already a lot more experienced. She's had a much better career. Case in point Transformers: The Last Knight and especially the latest Alien: Romulus. Isabel can put her movie collection in Bella's pocket. Because it just is. Bella Ramsey isn't that good of an actress to pull off an entire series. She always needs someone better. Let's not forget i the Witches of Compulsory Schooling series that has such a cult status (think bad -> terrible acting, crazy gimmicks... and v every series (2017-2020 i v 1998-2001) has one future acting star(Felicity Jones)). Based on "witches", I believe, i Harry Potter was created.
