The Simpsons – S28E02: Friends and Family – 80 %

So it's the second episode of the new season among the internet world. Like the previous episode, this 20 minutes or so was mostly devoted to someone other than the Simpson family directly. This time it was, as it was a week ago, Charles Montgomery Burns. The town's richest man, who is now almost 200 years old.

The first episode in October is better than the previous one, there's more humour and the creators have done more with the Burns character. Additionally, they've made a fuss around him so that less than a full Simpsons family can help him out.

Over the course of 20 minutes, we're treated to a lot of extended humorous scenes that I remembered the first time, and they don't get lost among the other episodes. The most interesting and funny jokes and scenes are taken care of by Homer, who takes advantage of the new solitude in the whole house, as Marge and the kids help the owner of the nuclear power plant with his problem.

We see the other characters that appear in the episode really briefly, perhaps Waylon Smithers and Professor Frink have a bigger role from the supporting characters, otherwise the main characters take the whole episode for themselves.

Although it's not perfect, it's mostly more entertaining than the previous episode, and so my rating for the episode is 80%.
