The Simpsons – S28E05: Trust But Clarify – 50 %

It's a shame that the fifth episode of this season is, so far, the worst. But it just is. Kent Brockman's main story, is very weak. How many times has he been so much fun? Lots of times, but Kent's jobless struggle against the corporation that created Krusty's cookies is reprehensibly underutilized.

Even Homer's part of the current episode isn't worth mentioning. How much is left unused to keep people entertained. Quite a lot. It's really a shame that this episode is split into two stories. Maybe they could have split the two stories into individual 20 minute segments to simply separate the story and use every spare moment for humor.

Currently, the individual stories of both Homer and Kent are too short. They do have a short and relatively good introduction, but in twenty minutes nothing of any consequence happens at all. They lack a story and, more importantly, a proper conclusion.

Thus, the best part in this 5th episode of the new season is the opening credits, when Homer visits the Museum of Modern Art. The rest is just a boring episode with no story. I just have to give this episode only 50%. When I even had to watch it on 2x because I was not at all entertained on the first run, I turned it off in the first third.
