I used to play with a Transformer when I was a kid. I could take it apart and put it back together into a little car. I was little, I enjoyed it. But it's been almost twenty-five years. Now I play with other adult things. Maybe my kids will play with these toys again.
Currently, the toys of my youth are being played with by producers in America. Michael Bay repeats the same thing again, robots, cars, beating for the survival of mankind. But unfortunately, within the story, it goes from ten to five. He has taken on a new cast for the new installment, so he doesn't have to pay his favorite and unpopular actors. It's better to pay actors who want to be in a successful film than actors who are already famous for that film. He replaced young actor Shia LaBeouf with young daddy Mark Wahlberg. Megan Fox/Rosie Huntington-Whiteley's girlfriend has been replaced by teenager Nicola Peltz.
Unfortunately, all of these changes were not for the good of the film. Just when Sam and his girlfriend's love was getting awkward, they thought better of it and popped the question? What's an even greater love? Well, the love between a widowed father and his 17 year old daughter, who luckily gets stuck with the right sexy boy (racer) similar to Thor.
I don't believe in movie love anymore since a certain time and ignore all the caiques I might see in the cinema on TV. That's what the neighborhood Transformers are full of. I don't like it.
Add to that the fact that the only actors worth mentioning are Mark Wahlberg, Stanley Tucci and acting matador Kelsey Grammer. Who, by the way, were also seen in this year's second megahit. Insiders probably know, but for those unfamiliar, so hiding behind a mask at the end of the film, spoiler alert – don't read, X-Men: Future Past. But when you take the rest of the cast, unfortunately it's so D grade, pretty faces, smile, kick, we're still running, are we dead, or will we survive? Famous actors hid behind the Trasformers dubbing, like John Goodman, John DiMaggio and Ken Watanabe. But we won't hear them in English. In their place are Ota Jirák, Igor Bareš and Zdenek Maryška.
What about Transformers? How did they turn out? Then who are we left with? Optimus Prime and Bumblebee. The others are long dead. They're worth fighting for. The Decepticons are almost gone from the earth, and so new killers keep reappearing, enemies who want to destroy the Autobots or the human species. All of this awaits us in a nearly three-hour film that was boring. I liked Michael Bay for his precision and for his trademark cinematography, but too much is too much. It's just the director playing with cars anymore, a nudge here, a nudge there, some people get killed, so to speak, but it's still boring. In the end, it still ends with a good ending all the good guys survive and the bad guys (humans/Transhumans) die.
When I take it past the image and quality in the IMAX theater, for the second time in recent memory, I have to come clean. I recommend overhearing all the boasting about it being the best in IMAX. All the lectures that the director shot certain footage on the new digital IMAX cameras are bunk, with the caveat that digital IMAX 2K quality, feel free to correct me, only reaches near HD resolution, so you'll get the same quality on TV or in a proper cinema on Blu-ray.
Not to mention that the vaunted extended image is not permanent. It alternates from shot to shot, second to second, as if the producers don't know what camera they're going to shoot what with. I'd rather have a coherent chapter in a quality extended IMAX format than have it alternate like socks. The only thing that was alternating about Transformers 4 was the aspect ratio, not the picture quality. With the picture quality, this movie doesn't go golden top. The golden newest Star Trek, I enjoyed that one in IMAX format. Its opening ala James Bond was the best thing I've seen in image quality.
I think celluloid and old analog IMAX film would have suited this film. But alas, the producers are Hamouni the Shut Up and so they're degrading the quality and only going after the money. Poor picture quality, poor 3D, not related to Transformers, these are the ways to make the most money at the cost of customer churn and criticism of their films. So you're better off going to see a movie in a normal theater, maybe even a summer theater, where you can enjoy those summer blockbusters more, along with overpriced Coke and popcorn. It may not be the worst movie of the summer, but it's definitely the worst Transformers. But alas, the producers are going for profit, and so they're setting up more piggy banks for the producers to pile more episodes into.
