Westworld – Annees Folles (S04E03) – 40 %

After two promising episodes, we're not revisiting the new Dolores this time, but continuing with the story of Caleb and Maeve. Their continuation in the world of the 1920s is worth the reveal and the importance of the element of surprise.

As you can see, the creators have some surprises in store for us that fans weren't expecting, Caleb's story has taken a turn and it's clear that his story needs to be put in crisis in order to, perhaps, continue in its optimistic vein.

The other story that came up in this episode is Bernard's resurrection. He has "woken up" after seven years and, as part of his "lessons learned" journey of thought, has thrown himself into a couple of murders (well, just robots) to work with the mysterious resistance.

Unfortunately, I somehow didn't like this episode very much, expecting a bit more. It's the third volume, so it's sure to be a filler volume. In the 50 minutes that the episode lasted, we didn't get to see anything proper, just a few nudges and surprises with the promise that in episode 4 (that is, if Bernard, Caleb and Maeve are the story) we will finally experience a dark future that, unless something happens, will be dark and humans will be slaves to robots.
